Kershaw Military Boot Knife – Street Fighting Speed
Military fighting knives need greater length and weight to be able to penetrate military coverings. Despite its name, the Kershaw Military Boot Knife has neither. It is very lightweight at 4.4 oz., and has a short 4.5" blade. But while this is not a tough knife designed for the battlefield, it is an extremely speedy street fighting knife which is easily concealed and carried. The sheath offers many attachment options regardless of your attire, and is very slim. The blade is thin and narrow, and has a false edge thinning out the tip, making for deeply penetrating stabs. The blade steel is very hard vanadium stainless, so the knife will take and hold a razor sharp edge until needed. The handle scales are POM (basically glass-filled nylon), but are not textured when new. This is a significant oversight, since the material is slick, especially when wet. The guard, too, doesnt offer much purchase when new, and its angle with the handle is too flat to ensure youre protected from the blade on a hard stab. With some modification, as you can see in the video, the knife can be given a much more secure handle and guard, and the blade can be made that much more deadly. As new, I rate the knife 710, but with the modifications it is a superior choice for street fighting and self defense. 910
